Dear CHR Community,

This Volunteer Appreciation Week, we’re taking a moment to recognize the people who make this work possible.

In 2025, 251 volunteers gave 18,619 hours of their time. That is a 9% increase from the year before and the equivalent of nearly 9 full-time team members. Their contribution represents over $623,000 in support for the horses in our care.

But what stays with us are the moments behind those numbers.

The early mornings and the many hours spent on the ranch. The willingness to show up in the rain, snow, or sunshine. The grooming sessions that brought comfort and connection to horses that needed to feel loved again. The time spent learning through clinics, lending a hand at events, and showing up again and again.

This work is not just about where a horse comes from. It is about where they are going. And that future is shaped by a community that chooses to care, to show up, and to believe in creating a better world for horses.

To our volunteers, and to everyone who supports this mission in ways big and small, thank you. You are part of something that is changing lives, one horse at a time.
