Imagine a better

World For Horses

We are Colorado Horse Rescue, and we work to continuously reimagine what’s possible and create a reality where safe solutions exist for every horse.

YOU'RE INVITED TO

JOIN THE CHALLENGE!

Join us Sunday, June 4th, 2023 for the first ever PEAK Training Challenge, hosted by Colorado Horse Rescue in Longmont. We have invited experienced Colorado and Wyoming trainers to be partnered with unstarted or lightly handled members of our herd for 100 days in order to give both participants the opportunity to reach new heights.

This exciting training challenge is free and open to the public, so come show your support as these talented trainers and horses showcase their progress!

FLOWER

Born April 7, 2022, I'm a young one with plenty of spunk and personality. My Mom is about 15 hands tall and my legs are soooo long! Would you like a project? Interested in starting a young horse and eventually putting her under saddle? Come check out Flower. Trainer skills required or willingness to…

ABENDAGO

IN THE ADOPTION PROCESS!!! This gorgeous bay mustang has a considerable amount of training under his belt but still shows us he's unpredictable at times. We're going back over the basics with him at this time. Abendago is a lot of horse for any potential owner, so a patient, experienced and talented…

GEORGE

Who needs a solid, intermediate level and steady horse? At 22, this is not a competition or speed horse, but he sure has a nice, comfortable walk, trot, and canter. He's a people pleaser and a pleasure to have in the herd. George deserves the best of homes - could that be you?

The

Issue

Every week, an average of 18 horses are sold at the livestock auction in our community. Approximately ten are purchased by kill buyers and shipped to Mexico to be slaughtered for meat. We rescue as many of these animals as we can, in addition to accepting and rehoming horses from families in personal crisis.

COMPANION CONNECTION

Companionship – because not all horses need a rider. Our new Companion Connection program was formed to find solutions to the challenges facing non-riding horses.

A MOVEMENT STARTS WITH ONE THING. MOVEMENT.

As a 501(c)(3) impact organization operating in since 1986, Colorado Horse Rescue is the home of unbridled potential. We exist to build a better future for horses, one life at a time.
