Bio: Badger is a 15h tri color, Medicine Hat paint who is looking for a riding or non-riding home. He would need a refresher for riding as it’s been about 2 years since we rode routinely. Badger and his owner recently lost Badger’s only pasture mate and Badger does best with a 4-legged pasture friend. He is friendly, curious, stands beautifully for the farrier, and is not afraid of the trailer. He currently is spoiled with grain twice daily and hay. Very easy keeper. Bio: Benny is a ten-year-old OTTB beautiful chestnut boy who we love. He was diagnosed with mild kissing spine last year and my daughter does some jumping, so we felt it best for him to be retired. Since we really couldn't justify the cost of surgery and the length of rehab things have changed, and we are no longer able to afford his boarding in Colorado, I'm trying to find him a great home where he only does flat trail work or a companion horse. Bio: On the ground, Gus is as sweet of a horse as they come. I practice doing my Equine message therapy on him, and he eats it up. He has been lame for over two years, and we did x-rays on him last summer. He has pretty severe early onset arthritis. Even with corrective shoeing and arthritis meds, we haven't been able to get him riding sound. As a riding horse he also has a little bit of a playful buck at the start of some rides when he is fresh, so he is NOT suitable for light beginner riding. He hasn't bucked any of my family off, but they are fairly experienced riders. You can get him to not buck if you lunge him first, but you have to work him harder than his joints are comfortable. Again, his strength is his ground manners and companion ability. In our herd of about twenty horses he is very low on the pecking order and is a very sweet horse to other horses. Last year we kept him in for the winter (he needs some alfala in the winter) with the young weanlings and he was a great companion with them. We run cows on a large cattle ranch, and he really can't complete the work out here. He is fine here for the time being (especially since he makes a good practice massage horse) but I would like to see if we can find a companion home where he will get more love. Bio: Halfpint is an older, retired trail horse. She has a lot of get-up-and-go for her age, and she is willing to do just about anything. Bio: Searching for a loving, long-term home for a gelding who needs a companion and light riding situation due to Navicular Disease. While he is well-trained, he has been mostly resting for the past year. He requires a home that understands and can manage Navicular Disease. He is currently barefoot and an easy keeper. He gets Equioxx 3 times per a week and Jiaogulan. He is well-mannered but does need to be ridden and taken out since its been a while. He needs a home that can provide light trail riding only, or a companion-only role where he can be a happy pasture buddy. He is not suited for strenuous work or intense training. Bio: Peanut is a finished barrel horse whose recovering from a deep flexor tendon injury since February. His fate on barrels us unknown but is walking under saddle fine and gallops in pasture. He is a fairly reactive horse who needs an experienced owner who with time to work him daily on the ground. Bio: Pepper is a very sweet grey 16.1 ottb mare. She was disciplined and very successful with a junior in a hunter/jumper program. Although now retired to light riding on trails due to soundness issues.  Perfect for trails alone or with group, great in pasture. Good on the ground and likes to learn. Pretty easy keep overall. She has front shoes. Sound for trails and light riding.  She was getting yearly hock injections to be in hunter/jumper program, but will not need injections if she only does light work.  Located in Longmont, CO.

Bio: Piper is an intelligent 15-year-old quarter horse mare with a loyal disposition and eagerness to please. Piper is trained in both western and English disciplines with specific experience in trail riding, drill team, dressage, and liberty work. She has had extensive show exposure, which makes her reliable and sound minded. Piper was unfortunately diagnosed with ringbone in the front right pastern in January 2024 but is expected to be capable of light work far into her middle age by treatment with joint injections as needed. Piper would make an excellent addition to a home in search of a horse to love and care for as she ages. Located in Morrison, CO.

Bio: This horse is a 1-owner 29 y/o quarter horse who was previously ridden for trail rides until the last 10 yrs. Riding was stopped due to the owner's health, not due to the horse's behavior. He is a gentle companion who enjoys being brushed and visiting with company. Located in Littleton, CO.

Bio: Ranger is a handsome, loveable boy who recently became lame (the first time in the 5 years I've owned him). He is showing improvement after three weeks of Previcox but his future as a riding horse is uncertain, which is why I'm listing him only as a companion horse at this time. When sound, Ranger is excellent on trails, either alone or with one to two other horses. He does well in a herd and is generally agreeable around all other horses. Bio: Ranger is a very sweet and gentle boy. He wouldn’t hurt a fly. He is very smart and a fast learner. He has had 5 rides on him, but because of his medical conditions he is not able to be ridden anymore. He requires grain and medicine everyday for his comfort. Bio: I have him as a companion horse. Red is an affectionate, gentle, and loving horse. He has navicular but has been treated with proper shoeing and a mild anti-inflammatory once a day. He has been without pain for about 3 years. He would be a very good horse for a young first rider. I would prefer that he be ridden at a walk, and is not ridden at a trot or gallop, because of his navicular history. When I release him into a pasture he runs, trots, and rolls without pain. He gets a blood test every 6 months to make sure that his Kidneys are not affected by his medicine. Located in Arvada, CO.

Bio: Spartan is the sweetest boy. He is kind to all humans and all horses. He has pretty severe DSLD in both hind legs that has put him into retirement over the last couple of years. His DSLD has not affected his quality of life since he became a companion horse. His teeth are virtually all gone at this stage and he is on a mash diet. Currently, he gets 6 pounds of safe choice Senior and 4 pounds of hay/alfalfa pellets soaked morning and night. He is up to date on vaccinations, dental care, and hoof care.. He currently lives in Loveland.

Bio: Sugar is in great condition. She can be ridden with a halter. She stands about 15.2 hands.

Bio: Sunny is a stunning flaxen sorrel gelding standing approximately 17 hands tall. He’s a kind, sensitive horse who has survived a difficult past and is slowly learning to trust again. Once part of the rodeo world and later sent to auction, Sunny came to me fearful and unhandled — but with daily quiet care, he now eats from my hand and shows a genuine curiosity toward people. He is not yet halter broke and remains fearful of ropes and restraint, so he will need a patient, experienced person committed to gentle groundwork and long-term trust building. He gets along beautifully with other horses and has a naturally calm, sweet nature once he feels safe. Physically, Sunny is healthy and sound, but emotionally he’s still healing. It’s unclear whether he’ll ever be fully rideable, so his best future might be as a companion horse or a very slow, low-pressure project for someone who understands trauma recovery in horses. Sunny deserves a kind, quiet home where time, consistency, and love matter more than goals or timelines. If you have the patience and heart to continue his journey, Sunny will reward you with the trust of a truly special horse.

Bio: TC is a love bug that I just don't have the time to give to. My own work/life balance has made it very clear that I am not the right person for him and so I am looking for other options so he can live out his years in a happy way that he deserves. He loves being out with a herd (currently lives outside) and gets along well with everyone / although sometimes he thinks he’s a bit of a stud when it comes to mares and small things (minis, dogs, people, etc.). He has never had a comprehensive vet check, but it's very clear that it would pop up with tendon issues - he can stay mostly sound in work but due to my schedule I haven't been able to keep him in work long term, which is why it really doesn't make sense for me to keep pushing it and why I have listed him as a companion. He is very handsome, but keeping his sound/sane ratio in check is proving impossible for me and I know that there is a better situation for him out there! I am in no rush and want to find the perfect situation for him.

Bio: Violet is a coming 20 year old (April 29) Haflinger mare who stands about 14 hands tall. I got her 3 years ago but soon after she started to be on and off lame and we tried a lot of things to remedy the issue (x rays, shoes, etc) but after a great trail ride she injured her tendon and even with stall rest she's not sound, even though an ultrasound revealed that her tendon has healed. So i am not chasing the issue any longer and retire my horse from riding. Due to her having Cushing's disease (what actually affects tendons and ligaments) she probably won't be sound enough to ride. She does not show lameness at a walk and could tote a small kid around but I am trying to find her a companion home only. I have now a new horse I can ride but don't have enough money to board both of them and the current boarding situation (hilly) is not favorable for Violet. She's a sweet horse, bottom of totem pole, stands for vet and farrier (barefoot), up to date on all shots and teeth floating. I am very attached to her so i don't want to surrender her necessarily, I just don't have the space or money to keep her. I would still pay for her daily Cushing's pill (Prascend) and need to be able to visit every once in a while. Violet will most likely move to Nunn (Fort Collins area) mid April to a pasture only boarding facility but she most probably won't be loved on each day and that's what i want for her as well, horses and people! Bio: I have been using Windsor for horse therapy sessions, for children and adults with mental and physical challenges for the past 15 years. He loves the therapy work and children love him too, especially when doing his many tricks like answering funny questions by shaking his head yes or no, giving smiles, hugs and kisses, counting, picking up objects, telling jokes, taking his horse blanket off with his mouth, and many more! I am a horse trainer at the Ken Caryl Equine facility and also specialize in training horses to be calm, confident, relaxed and under control in any situation. Windsor is a true partner and extremely reliable, confident, controlled and bomb proof especially on the trails, parades, etc. There has never been one instance during therapy work, or any anytime where he did not remain totally calm, and connected to the handler when under stressful, difficult, and unexpected situations. Windsor is about 27 years old, is in great shape and has plenty of muscle and stamina for continuing with the therapy work, area work and 2-3 mile trail rides for many years and is happy walking trotting or cantering. He has no current and no prior health issues, has never had colic, etc. He has had a few teeth fall out, but there are no medical problems with his teeth, mouth, or gums. Because of that I supplement his hay feed with pellet grass, alfalfa and oats that are mixed with water which he eats several times a week. Located in Littleton, CO.
