Bio: Cuervo is an Appendix Quarter Horse (3/4 QH, 1/4 TB) with excellent bloodlines (Skipper W, Impressive, Seattle Slew). He was never registered but have his paperwork from both parents (I still own his mom and have met his dad). Cuervo is a beautiful boy with matching hind socks and a gorgeous gold coat in the summertime. He's full of personality and calm as can be under saddle (or bareback), has never been high strung or spooky, and LOVES attention. He's been with me since he was a weanling, and was a great trail riding and pack horse until a couple of years ago when he started to get sore due to navicular. Cuervo requires year-round front shoes with pads, and daily medication for pain management in his front feet. He is currently limited to light riding in an arena on soft footing. Cuervo would be an excellent horse for a child or an adult who enjoys light riding or would make a beautiful and easy pasture pony/companion horse.

She is still rideable, but only for short, flat, easy trail rides. Lakota is a very sweet, and calm mare. She loads, stands for the farrier, easy to worm, stands for shots, is good for the veterinarian, and you can clip her. I would love to keep this mare, but I have a few other horses with chronic health issues, and my budget cannot take the extra expenses, so I need to downsize my heard.

Bio: Lila was started in the Meeker Mustang Makeover, and successfully adopted out. For about a year she has been in under saddle training, and started very well. Unfortunately, she was diagnosed with neurological issues causing her to trip at random which makes her unsafe for riding. She trailer loads perfectly, stands well for farrier, is a lovely companion, gets along with other horses in various herds, is an easy keeper, is good for grooming, and loves attention. My hope for her is that she finds a loving home that wants to keep her as a cute companion for their other horses. Her only needs are the basics :feet trimming, annual teeth floats/checks, grass hay, water. No special maintenance required, and I have my vet ready to answer the phone to touch on any questions or concerns; however, multiple vets are not worried about her future as a companion horse. Her neurological issues will not worsen, they are just as is.

Breed: Draft Cross
Bio: I purchased Morgan 3 years ago, planning to do lower-level eventing (jumping and dressage); however, approximately 6 months into our partnership, he started showing intermittent lameness. He was eventually diagnosed with bilateral suspensory desmitis. Based on this diagnosis, it was recommended that he not jump anymore, regardless of rehab outcome. I have diligently rehabbed him; however, after working with vets and following their rehab plan over the past two years, he is still not fully sound. At this point, it does not seem to be coming from his suspensory ligaments; however, we have been unable to pinpoint what seems to be bothering him. His options would be to either retire him to a home with lighter and easier riding expectations or extensive workups and more rehab, which may or may not help determine the cause of his discomfort or resolve it. Along the way we have done some joint injections with limited improvement (hocks, right stifle and SI joints), as well as Adequan injections and joint supplement. The SI joint injections seemed to make the most difference, so it may be advisable to continue on an as needed basis. It has also been recommended that he start Equioxx. During most of his rehab, he has been ridden; however it has been controlled and limited to walk and some trot. Other than that, he is an easy keeper.
His ideal home would be with someone experienced, confident and calm with horses. He has a ton of personality and does best with someone who can set and enforce expectations. He can get nervous if he’s unclear of what’s being asked, and will look for or make up excuses (e.g., I'm not so sure about that pole, I’m not sure I can move my body that way, let me do something else instead), so he needs someone who tolerates that easily and can redirect (unfortunately, I just get nervous).
He loves being around other horses and tends to be toward the top of the pecking order (especially with food). He doesn’t bully or pick on other horses, but does stand his ground. He has been in a variety of living situations since I’ve had him: shed with run, stall with run, stall with daily turn-out, and pasture with 3 buddies (mixed and all gelding herd). He has done well in all living situations, but he definitely prefers living in the pasture with his herd.
Vices: He is impatient. He can paw in the crossties for attention or might kick at the stall when it’s his turn to go out, or if his person is standing in front of his stall and ignoring him. Although not a vice, he does take some time to settle into new situations. He is very observant, not naturally confident and can spook at something new, but with a confident human and time to process, he does well. The one exception we have found, he is legitimately afraid of motorcycles.

Bio: Sonora is a very sweet and affectionate Quarter horse mare. She is cutting bred and was started as a cutting horse when she was young. She was a clinic horse for a while, demonstrating round pen training for audiences. She is now 22 years old and has not been ridden for 10-12 years. I have had her since she was 2. She was diagnosed with Cushing's disease in 2021, and I have managed to keep it under control with medication and proper diet. She is on Prascend and would need to continue with that as well as an appropriate diet. I currently feed her grass hay, alfalfa, and a grain called Crypto-Aero and she is doing well although she could stand to gain a bit of weight at the moment. In the past couple of years, I have done some positive reinforcement training with her but have not gotten to the point of being able to ride her. I have had to go slow and just haven't gotten very far (not because of her, because of my life circumstances). I do think she could probably be ridden again with gentle training. She has a heart arrhythmia and needs to be trained and worked with (and possibly ridden) gently. She is fine but cannot be worked really hard. She is the sweetest and has great ground manners, loads perfectly, and is affectionate. My vet has said she could be transitioned to a pasture if done slowly. I can trailer her somewhere to a new home. Her cushings management does need to continue. I am happy to talk if you have any questions or concerns. She is a lovely horse! She would make a wonderful companion and could possibly be trained gently to ride again. I have led her around with children on her back bareback as well and she is great with them. She is just the sweetest.

Bio: Sundance is a sweet, beautiful palomino gelding, about 15-16 years old. I rescued him 2 1/2 years ago to become my solo horse, mostly for trail riding. He had been mistreated and neglected, and was at a rescue facility that was caring for him. Though he had been trained some and had been ridden, he was untrusting of people, scared of the halter, and terrified of a saddle, fly spray, farrier, etc. Since I've worked with him he is now good with all of that. He has great ground manners, and loves people. He is the first horse to come up from the pasture with a sweet nicker when he sees me, and the first to go up to anyone who comes into the pasture. Unfortunately, I found out after a several months that the reason he was giving previous owners a hard time is that he has a bit of kissing spine and little navicular. But I wasn't going to give up on him. I've spent the last two years and LOTS of money trying to get him comfortable enough to be ridden, but I can't get him there. He is a happy, healthy, active, beautiful boy out in the pasture on the soft ground and without a rider, but soon as you get on you can tell he's sore. I can only afford one horse, and for my own therapy, it needs to be a horse I can ride. I love Sundance and have tried everything I can to get him sound, but to no avail. So it's time to find him a wonderful, comfortable, pasture retirement home, where he can be loved and cared for, and have human and horsey friends... but not be ridden. He is my boy, a huge piece of my heart, and I will be very picky about where he goes. I believe the perfect home is out there for him. Maybe it's with you?
Pease contact me with any questions you might have.
Also, I have tons of pictures and videos I can share if you'd like to see more.

Bio: Leggy Thoroughbred yearling with an endearing personality! Swift has been a delight to be around ever since his tiny little hooves set down at CHR. Since then, he has grown by leaps and bounds both physically and mentally. Curious and eager to please, Swift picks things up quickly and already has a nice manner on the ground. He’s waiting patiently for a colt starter to pick up his education and take him to the next level! Easy to catch and halter, he’s also been trimmed several times by our farriers.

Bio: TC is a love bug that I just don't have the time to give to. My own work/life balance has made it very clear that I am not the right person for him and so I am looking for other options so he can live out his years in a happy way that he deserves. He loves being out with a herd (currently lives outside) and gets along well with everyone / although sometimes he thinks he’s a bit of a stud when it comes to mares and small things (minis, dogs, people, etc.). He has never had a comprehensive vet check, but it's very clear that it would pop up with tendon issues - he can stay mostly sound in work but due to my schedule I haven't been able to keep him in work long term, which is why it really doesn't make sense for me to keep pushing it and why I have listed him as a companion. He is very handsome, but keeping his sound/sane ratio in check is proving impossible for me and I know that there is a better situation for him out there! I am in no rush and want to find the perfect situation for him.

Bio: This special horse came to the rescue from a dude ranch. Through his initial medical exam, it was found that Thunder has a special heart. Thunder's heart has an "irregularly irregular" arrhythmia that holds him back from a future riding career. However, it doesn't hold him back from being a playful, outgoing, handsome fellow who would love to join the right herd! Thunder is otherwise an easy keeping horse and will thrive with a knowledgeable handler as he is still a youngster. Thunder is fast learning and would call himself a "pocket pony." He is gaining confidence and enjoying working with his people!
