Bio: Cute, spunky Mustang seeks rider with skills and confidence! Bristol is a sparkling young mare with a good start under saddle. Don’t let her hear you say it, but she’s on the smaller side -- if you’re a lighter rider looking for a fun project, Bristol is your girl! This smart little lady also loves liberty work and is fun to play with on the ground. Bonus: she’s an easy keeper and is currently barefoot.  

Bio: This sweet older mare still has plenty of wisdom to share with a family looking for their first or 20th horse. Having always known love and kindness, Cheyenne is simply looking for her next family to take her in and give her the life she deserves. She will be adopted as a non-riding horse, although she may carry a small child for short lead-line segments safely. If you are looking for an easy-going horse, please come meet Cheyenne!

Bio: Registered as "A True Blue Chip," this handsome guy has a very sweet temperament. Chip came to CHR from a loving owner, and he clearly has a lot of training invested in him! Our equine care and training team has evaluated him and is placing him as a non-riding horse only, but his personality has already won him plenty of fans around here.

Bio: Clark is a very gentle horse that will be adopted out to as a WALK ONLY horse under saddle. If your family is just getting into horses and looking for a handsome, kind horse, come meet Clark! Some maintenance required for this handsome horse.

Bio: Will require a strong, intermediate level rider to get her back in the groove of riding. She'll need someone can work with a horse that maybe rusty in her skills. This horse may be over-reactive with less predictable behaviors. Diagnosed with melanomas at the poll which are currently medically benign. Sensitive to bridle/poll pressure - does better in a rope halter or a neck halter.

Bio: Flashy, sweet and gaited! Eclipse is an energetic Tennessee Walker with a good riding foundation. Her best match is someone with advanced-level horsemanship skills who understands or is familiar with gaited horses. A skilled, patient and relaxed rider would be the best match for Eclipse. Lots of trail riding experience in her background, just needs to keep to easy surfaces, and shorter rides. She requires some maintenance and a proficient farrier to keep her at her best.  

Bio: Spunky, pint-sized Eleanor is a darling paint pony who is settling happily into retirement life. Seized by animal control from an unsafe living situation, little Eleanor is resilient and is in great shape for her age. At 20, she has good skills on the ground and has done great living in our large mares pasture. She likes a little grain to keep up her ideal weight but is otherwise an easy-keeping barefoot lady.  

Bio: This pretty mare has developed a whole new level of contentment around people. She will make a wonderful companion horse to a capable home. Goes barefoot and is an easy keeper!

Bio: Although he’s one eye short, Forrest is responsive and connected when paired with the right partner. This gorgeous guy is smart, well trained, and looking for a non-riding home. Bio: Halo has been such a pleasant surprise for the team here at CHR! She came to us neglected, frightened and almost impossible to handle. Since then, she has settled in and is thriving in her training sessions. She is consistently being ridden in Western tack at the walk and trot, and we are currently working on helping her be more sensitive to cues under saddle. Her favorite thing in the world? Positive reinforcement in the form of pets and scratches! Requires shoes and pads.

Bio: It is impossible not to fall in love with Harry! Harry Trotter recently returned to CHR from a wonderful foster home experience with one other horse. He enjoyed spending relaxing hours with his foster family, grazing down pastures at the neighbor's house and learning about other farm animals on the hobby farm. Harry gets along well with mares and geldings and is ready to find a loving, permanent home. Requires front shoes.

Bio: Holly spent most of her life as a competitive show horse and came to the rescue after spending years in a dynamic community riding program. Now, she is looking for a loving new family who will appreciate all she's given to her people in the past and give her a great retirement. Due to an old injury, Holly has arthritis in one of her front knees and takes intermittent pain meds to enable her to stay the frisky, playful horse she has always been. Holly loves to be groomed and is great with people of all skill levels on the ground.

Bio: Sweet, safe, and oh-so-cute, Indigo is a retired dude ranch gelding with a gorgeous blue roan coat and a heart of gold. This older gentleman is polite on the ground and enjoys going for long walks with our volunteers. Indigo had to have an eye removed upon arriving at the rescue, and has adapted well to one-eyed life. However, we've decided re-learning being a one-eyed riding horse may be too big of an ask for this golden oldie. He is looking for a loving retirement home that can offer him a gentle, consistent environment.

Bio: Meet Jones! This retired dude ranch horse is gentle and easygoing. While he is retired from carrying adult riders, he would be a great leadline horse for small kids and does great living with in a large shared pasture. Requires Cushing's medication daily.

Bio: Kylo is a breathtaking young heartbreaker with a fantastic training foundation. With his Thoroughbred size and refined look, he could excel at a variety of disciplines, although our trainers think he would be especially well suited for dressage work. He’s a dream to ride and a pleasure to be around – are you the one to polish Kylo to a brilliant shine? An advanced rider would mesh perfectly with him, although a confident intermediate rider could be a great fit with the help of a trainer. Some maintenance required.

Bio: 6/19 IN EVALUATION WITH CHR TRAINER AT THIS TIME. Lovely Lady truly lives up to her name! This stunning Thoroughbred mare is J just back from a training and conditioning foster program. Lady’s perfect match has the training skills to build and refine her already impressive skills. She’s a horse that really shines in person, so submit a horse match profile to meet her.

Bio: This retired dude ranch horse is ready to find a loving non-riding home where he can be spoiled and valued for the gentle guy he is. Link is easy going, gets along well with other horses, and is barefoot. Link is missing some teeth, and requires some tweaks to his diet to be happy and healthy. If you're in need of a buddy horse, and are looking for a gentle-mannered horse, Link could be your guy!

Bio: Meet Mac. This young horse, rescued at auction, is fond of humans and has a great start in training. He has a nice foundation that could allow Mac to go in any direction. Athletic young horse!

Bio: Come meet this easy-keeping, athletic gelding! Micah was previously unhandled before coming to the rescue and has been a star student within our training program. At 18 years old, Micah is healthy, super smart, and looking for a non-riding companion home. He thrives on pasture with other geldings, and would be a terrific liberty horse! Barefoot.

Bio: This lovely 13-year-old gelding shines under saddle! Moon has had one of his eyes removed but is truly unaffected by the change. Barefoot, young, and smart, he is confident as a riding horse and sweet on the ground. You’re sure to fall for his well-trained charm and classic Arabian look!

Bio: Goofy Murtaugh is sure to make you smile with his antics. Since coming to CHR scared and underweight, this cute bay gelding has relaxed enough to let his silly, playful nature shine through. Bio: Personality plus! Nickers is a one eyed wonder. This horse is super sweet and personable and a great buddy to other horses. He has some physical limitations which is why he is looking for a loving retirement home. Look into his big beautiful eye and you're sure to fall in love!! Currently wears front shoes with pads.

Bio: Noelle is a smart, sensitive filly in search of a trainer to set her on the right path. Bright red with a sprinkling of freckles in her blaze, this special girl has had a great start here at CHR. She halters, leads and stands for the farrier, but is otherwise a clean slate with nice size and a good attitude in training. She is just coming three years old and is doing some growing up to do. Bio: Lovely and personable mare who would enjoy a family of her own who wants to spend time grooming her. Can also provide the kids with a lead line experience with supervision.

Bio: My name is Ragnar and I am indeed a warrior horse. My previous life was as a bucking horse on the rodeo circuit until I got smart and quit bucking. I was fired from that job and ended up at the auction as a throw away horse. CHR, lucky for me, was there that day, bought me, and brought me to the rescue. I'm losing my fear of people but still tend to overreact to almost anything and everything. Patience and talent will be needed by my adopter. Resources and more than one trainer may be needed - but they think I'm worth all the effort and I couldn't agree more!

Bio: Ranger is a former Dude Ranch horse who did not love the job! He asked for a trade and was lucky enough to come to CHR. What start under saddle he has will need to be begun again from scratch. A beautiful horse at a young age who, while not a match for a competition setting, would be a good, capable horse with the right adopter/trainer.

Bio: Riggs, a big-boned paint gelding, joined us after being removed from an unacceptable living situation. He’s re-learning how to interact with kind, fair humans and has made incredible strides toward being a healthy and happy horse. The CHR team has identified maintenance that creates the best soundness. Halters, leads and stands for the farrier. Not a finished horse - needs a strong intermediate to be a good match.

Bio: Roland is a sensitive gelding who is successfully re-learning trust and confidence! He has experience under saddle, but came to CHR in need of a re-start. This big guy is intelligent and talented. His best match is a trainer who prioritizes patience, consistency and relationship-building as part of their philosophy. Barefoot, easy keeper.

Bio: Shadow is an easy keeping, personable Mustang looking for a loving retirement home. This big guy bonds deeply with his people and will want to be right in your pocket! If you're a Mustang lover, you will fall for this dreamy gelding.

Bio: Sriracha is a big love bug! This adorable gelding is easy keeping and loves other horses, mares and geldings. He has a heart murmur that limits him from being a riding athlete, however, his personality will add so much value to your herd! If you're needing a buddy for your horse, a fun liberty horse, or just a sweet horse to take for walks...Sriracha could be your guy.

Bio: Leggy Thoroughbred yearling with an endearing personality! Swift has been a delight to be around ever since his tiny little hooves set down at CHR. Since then, he has grown by leaps and bounds both physically and mentally. Curious and eager to please, Swift picks things up quickly and already has a nice manner on the ground. He’s waiting patiently for a colt starter to pick up his education and take him to the next level! Easy to catch and halter, he’s also been trimmed several times by our farriers.  

Bio: If you have training skills and are in need of a companion for your horse, Theory is your guy! Theory is actively in our training program while we search for the right home for him. Requires front shoes.

Bio: This special horse came to the rescue from a dude ranch. Through his initial medical exam, it was found that Thunder has a special heart. Thunder's heart has an "irregularly irregular" arrhythmia that holds him back from a future riding career. However, it doesn't hold him back from being a playful, outgoing, handsome fellow who would love to join the right herd! Thunder is otherwise an easy keeping horse and will thrive with a knowledgeable handler as he is still a youngster. Thunder is fast learning and would call himself a "pocket pony." He is gaining confidence and enjoying working with his people!

Bio: Here is a shining silver beauty who stands out in a crowd! Velvet is a lofty, dynamic Thoroughbred who comes with a treasure trove of athletic ability. Placed with us by a loving owner, this girl loves to go and is a huge mover under saddle. We see big dressage potential whenever we see her working! As a strong-willed mare, Velvet would connect with a strong intermediate rider. A trainer would also be a great match for her.   Daily grain, front shoes and pads, and joint injections are required to keep this performance horse at her peak.  

Bio: Elegant Zarra is a splendid National Show Horse, sweet and lovely under saddle! Brought to CHR by a loving owner, she gets along well in a herd and is affectionate toward people. Due to a pasture accident, she has an asymmetry to her gait that does not affect her ridability. This fun mare is barefoot, and easy-keeping.
