Gender: Mare
Height: 15
Breed: Quarter Horse
Bio: This big, beautiful mare is full of personality. When Sequoia originally came to the rescue, she was severely overweight and in need of a plan for her rehabilitation. Thankfully, this experienced horse has great ground manners and was happy to go for daily long walks with our volunteer team to kick-start her weight loss journey. Sequoia does great living with both mares and geldings and tends to be in the middle of the herd hierarchy. Her weight is now being managed appropriately and she is feeling better than ever, however, her hooves were left affected by her condition and she does require ongoing therapeutic hoof care. With the right management, this mare is living her best life and would love to find the right retirement home where she will be loved and spoiled with lots of grooming and long walks.
Handler Experience: Companion/Intermediate - Has a working knowledge of horse behavior and herd dynamics, and is able to catch, halter and lead safely.
